2. When your baby naps, allow him to sleep in a well-lit area. This will help encourage shorter naps, which in turn may help him sleep better at night.

3. During the day, nurse in a quiet, darkened room. You mentioned that your son isn’t very interested in daytime feeds. Babies of this age are often caught up in what is going on around them. Feeding him more during the day will allow him to meet his nutritional needs at a time more convenient to you.

4. Is your baby using a pacifier? If so, allow him to meet his sucking needs at your breast instead, offering nursing in lieu of the pacifier. Regular nursing sessions during the day may help to reduce his middle of the night waking.

5. When nursing, allow your baby to finish the first breast offered. This will provide him with more of your rich hindmilk, which may also help to space out his nighttime feeds.

6. Carry your baby — with the aid of a sling or other baby carrier. This will help to keep your baby relaxed, especially during the early evening hours, encouraging an easy transition to sleep.

7. Keep the evening calm to avoid overstimulation. If a bath is relaxing for your little one, you can bathe him before bed. If it’s too stimulating, bathe him at another time.

8. Nurse in a darkened room at night if your son wakes and wants to feed. Avoid nighttime diaper changes if at all possible. Let him know that night is for sleeping

This Fisher-Price Infant-to-Toddler Rocker is a great rocker to start off with.

First, it’s an infant seat with a three-stage developmental system of toys designed to bring out baby’s full potential in the first year. Then, as your child grows, you can use it as a toddler rocking chair (up to 40 pounds)!

Calming vibrations and gentle rocking motion help comfort and soothe baby in the infant seat. My little boy didn’t really enjoy these “calming vibrations”, however, some kids out there might. There is also a foldout kickstand for sleeping and a two-position recline seat for baby’s comfort, which is great for when your little one doesn’t have enough strength to hold themselves upright. The toys are also removable which is great for when your baby needs minimal stimulation. Thankfully as well, the seat is machine-washable which in my experience, is essential. Requires 1 “D” battery (not included).

Developmental Guidelines: Use the upright position only when your child has developed enough upper body control to sit without leaning forward. Always use the restraint until your child is able to climb in and out of the chair unassisted.

This Fisher-Price Newborn Rock and Play Sleeper is a must have for any parent with a newborn and it totally worth the price. If you have an unsettled baby, this will change your life – ok, that may be a little extreme, but is most certainly a must have.

It is basically a portable sleep seat for newborns, kinda like a safe hammock. It has a smooth and gently rocking action and is securely inclined so your baby can sleep as though she is still held in your arms. In fact, most will not know the difference, meaning you can get things done!

This Newborn Rock and Play Sleeper frame rocks gently and silently and has very soft fabrics plus an insert for comfort and support. The sides are created with breathable fabric plus a pocket on the end, and it collapses easily to bring along on visits or trips. Seriously, once you start using this, you won’t stop, so buyer beware!!

For soothing and entertaining, there is 1 toy included: a soft elephant with wonderful textures and rattle beads, plus an attached little lovely blanket.

The Chicco Liteway Stroller is really a great light-weight stroller and great value for money. It features an ultra light aluminum frame which makes loading into the car very easy. The Lite Way has a fully reclining seat with hide-away boot enclosure for sleeping babies, rear wheel suspension, and toe-tap locking brakes keep your ride safe. Storage basket detaches and converts to sling tote for carrying baby.

1. Fully reclining, so great for newborns. Also, you can even change a diaper in this stroller
2. The height of the stroller is great for tall parents.
3. Front wheel locks – great for locking straight when going over rough terrain
4. Safety harness has been well thought out. The snap part is covered, so you can’t pinch your baby’s skin and there are also 2 shoulder positions.
